Florencina R, ridden by Giovanni Ugolotti for Italy, was judged the best-shod horse at the final horse inspection for the CCI4*-L at the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials. The mare, currently in 14th place after cross-country, was picked out by judge Gavin Golby, an Associate of the Worshipful Company of Farriers. The competition was on in the Palace Arena – not only were we spoilt with top horses and riders, but the backdrop of the Palace was a real treat for spectators. 2021 winner of the CCI4*-L and European Championship team gold medallist Yasmin Ingham piloted Banzai Du Loir into the overnight lead in the same class, taking the lead by 5.1 penalties over Gemma Stevens riding Jalapeno III who had led from early in the day.
