British Equestrian explain the charter:
Launched in March 2024, the Charter for the Horse is a pledge to be adopted across the equestrian sector to underpin our commitment to safeguarding the mental and physical wellbeing of our equids. All 19 of the British Equestrian member bodies have signed up to the Charter and we’ll collectively work towards the highest standards in the six key areas of:
- Empathy
- Care
- Respect
- Consideration
- Ethics
- Learning
Welfare is at the heart of everything we do at BPIHT, from course designing to bedding, cross country cool down to maintaining good ground and everything in between. Over commercial or competitive considerations, mental and physical wellbeing will always take priority.
