About Gareth Hughes:

Gareth grew up in Australia, where his equestrian journey began in-hand showing and Western riding, before moving to the UK in his early twenties to pursue dressage. Today, he is at the very forefront of the sport, having represented Team GB at European Championships, World Equestrian Games, and the Tokyo Olympics.

Over the course of his career, Gareth has amassed over 60 national and international titles and played a key role in Britain’s most successful dressage teams in recent history. Highlights include:

European Championships – Team Gold (2023), Team Silver (2021), Team Bronze (2013)

World Equestrian Games – Team Silver (2014 & 2022)

Olympics – Reserve rider for Team GB at Tokyo 2021

Alongside his international success, Gareth and his wife Rebecca run Hughes Dressage in Warwickshire, producing horses from youngsters through to Grand Prix. He is equally respected as a coach and trainer, having worked with riders and teams across the globe, always with a reputation for clear, sympathetic, and systematic training.
